The Craig Smith Show!!!

Kia ora
Welcome back to my blog
today I'm going to tell you about the show that Craig Smith did for us.
Craig Smith Is the author of
The Wonky Donkey

Willbee the bumble bee

My daddy ate an apple

Square eyes

And
The scariest thing in the garden

Craig Smith is a great Author he is my favorite
Author of children's story books along with Aaron Babley.
Here is a link to the lady that can't stop laughing while she is reading the Wonky donkey.

It was a great experience listening to an Author live and not just on a video.

What is your favorite story of his?

Production reveiw

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas Like Where do we come from?
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read Maui and the sun and Maui and the big fish. I have written my own legend called How the white horse turned into a Zebra.
We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

I'm the one that is leaning back

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by helping to make up four dances.

I think the show might impact on others by sharing a Maori story they might not know about.

What I learned about working with others was that everyone has to Contribute to make the show great.

Do you know many Maori legends?

The best swimming that we did

Welcome back to this beautiful blog of mine.
Today I will talk to you about how our splendid school swimming went.

We started our swimming lessons two weeks ago and finished last week on fabulous Friday. The first day, we swam and got into groups and then for the rest of the week we swam with those groups. For Monday and Tuesday in the second week we also swam in those groups and then for the rest of the second week we did water safety. On Wednesday we wore life jackets and tried to swim quickly in a line and then form a huddle.
On Thursday we had our life jackets on and tried to get the whole team in the boat.
On the other side of the pool on Thursday we had a scenario and we had to try and think of what we could do to get to safety.
On Friday I was not there but it was just you had your PJ's on and had your togs on underneath, then took them of and see how light it is with just your togs on.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and
have you ever done swimming lessons with school or just by yourself or just swim for fun?

Hello and welcome back to the world of my blog.
Today I will share my wonderful reading evidence.
In Tumu we have to have evidence of our reading journey.
I have a video that will explane the Maui stories and why we have to keep telling them.
